How to store a vinyl banner

 - by Banner Expert

When you store your banner, you want it to last for years to come. Here are a few tips to help ensure your banner is stored properly:

  • Always roll up the banner like a tube of gift wrap, except you want to roll the printed side inside instead of outside. That way, if anything scratches your banner, it will just scratch the back and not the front of the banner.
  • It’s safer to roll every banner up individually, or put newsprint between banners, so that the grommets on one banner can’t scratch the print on another banner.
  • Never fold a banner, even to throw it in the back of your car for a few hours. If you fold the banner, there is a chance that it might crease, or ink might transfer from one side of the banner to the other.
  • Always store your banner in dry conditions. If it’s been rained on, dry it off thoroughly before you roll it up.
  • Keep your banner rolled up in the box it was shipped in. That way, the banner will be protected from being smashed or damaged. Don’t stick heavy items on top of the box, or you might get creases in your banner.
  • Don’t store your banner in extreme heat, such as in a storage unit in the summer. It gets much hotter inside a storage unit that it does outside where you hang your banner, and it shortens the life of the banner.
  • Avoid storing banners in extreme cold as well. In extremely frigid situations, the banner might crack. (You’d have to live in Montana or Canada, though! Anything around freezing should be safe, but room temperature is better.)

Thanks for checking how to store your banner. If you follow these simple rules, your banner will last for years and still look as good as it did the day it arrived!
